Area 416 m²
Perched on a sunny hill overlooking the Bay of Lagos in Portugal, Casa Libre combines intimacy and openness. Its single-story, orthogonal design in exposed concrete centres around a private courtyard while embracing the vast southern horizon and sea views.
A defining feature is the slim, cantilevered concrete canopy, extending to glass façades and shading delicate wooden platforms that blend with the landscaped garden. Complementing this is a sleek, black monolithic pool, seemingly spilling water on all sides into the surrounding greenery. The rooftop, covered in vegetation, connects to a minimalist, low-maintenance garden.
Built with local materials and sustainable techniques, Casa Libre prioritises energy efficiency without compromising comfort. The home reflects a creative pursuit of innovative solutions, honouring both the people and the place it inhabits.
